Community Support:

The Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission does not receive any local, state, or federal support. We depend entirely on the surrounding community for our existence. The Rescue Mission stands as a testament to the generosity and Christian spirit of the men and women in our community. There are many ways in which you can take an active part in fighting the homeless crises our community faces.

The how, who, & when of giving

How:  Contributions to the Rescue Mission come in many forms.

  • Cash:  Cash is of course the most urgent and obvious way you can help. These donations are essential to the day to day running of the mission. Your cash donations go toward utilities, staff, transportation, maintenance, as well as covering any short falls in food and clothing contributions.
  • Food:  The Mission serves an average of 125,000 hot meals a year to the homeless men, women, and children of our community. Many grocery store chains donate food to our cause. However, those donations only go so far. Any food items you or your group donate are appreciated and desperately needed.
  • Clothing:  We also cloth thousands of men, women, and children in our community. This is a year round need. We are able to accomplish this by accepting new and used clothing from the community. Any available clothing you may have is gratefully appreciated.
  • Time: We all know time, in today’s world, is a valuable asset. The Mission values your time highly. We have a variety of needs that only time can meet.  Come join us in serving meals, giving personal testimonies, minister in song or just show your support by attending services.

Who:  Whether it’s church groups, community work projects, youth groups, coworkers, or just you as an individual. We welcome all who see a need and take steps to meet that need.

When:  We are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Please feel free to drop off your gifts at any time! Give us a call during business hours 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at (907)563-5603 if you wish to volunteer your time or your group wishes to help. We will set up a schedule for you to come and be a member of our mission family.

Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission is a 501(c)(3)

Receipts will be given for all donations so that the contributor can take full advantage of our tax deductible status.
